Yet another "WTF is this thing" thread. As the topic says, wtf is this thing? I'm referring to the black rubber grommet looking thing here:

Thats a PCV hole in the valve cover. I believe that the hose thats sitting on the flywheel in the 2nd pic goes into that hole.
