Default FAST 90mm TB good or bad?

Im a pretty happy guy right now, My LT headers and 90/90 came in the mail today!! BUT. Now I hear the FAST 90mm throttle body sucks? Should I send it back to get the Nick Williams? I hear it sticks? How does it do that? Isnt that a major safety issue? Is that the only bad thing about it or is there other stuff?

Also does anyone know how much more cfm the FAST intake flows over the stock LS1 manifold?

Send that piece of **** back before you're stuck with a 400 dollar paperweight.

Blake, how do you really feel? The problem was with early Fast 90mm TBs. The Nick Williams is a better built TB. It is a true 90mm, where I believe (and could be wrong) the fast tapers a bit more.

I'm not sure how easy it is to return the fast 90mm TB, but if you can, the NW TB is a better (and a little less expensive) TB. Check with Speedinc, they tend to have the best prices on the NW 90mm TB.

Well they want a 25% restocking fee, and thats insane, thats like over 100 bucks! I got the one with the sensors n all. Id rather sell it online for 100 bucks cheaper to give someone a deal...anywho, it is 90mm but the intake side is 105mm and tapers down to 90mm, that seems nice... I asked them if about defects in the TB and said they never heard of anyone having a problem. I guess ill use it and hope im lucky to have a good one...

OUCH!!!!!! It'd be worth it to upgrade to a NW90.

Do a search on the Fast90 TB. Fast seemed well aware of the issues and appeared un-motivated to fix it.

Call Fast and tell them. They will send out a new one. Had a customer that had to have this done.

I don't want to name drop, but it was one of the venders from this site...Prolly the only one with a 25% restocking fee, just do the research...I hope I have the "good version" Sounds like the main issue is it sticking...If its not sticking right now what will make it stick in the engine?

Problem w/ the FAST TB is the return spring on the axis of the throttleblade is too weak to pull the throttle cable back once it is sprung in the cable reel.

I have a cheesy custom spring attached to the top of the FAST IM. It's functional and, if you don't really look for it, it's not overwhelmingly sad to look at.

Having this problem now with a Fast 90mm on a 427 we did... put another return spring to back up their stock one, and it's still no good. The customer just called me this morning, and told me that he "wants that piece of **** off of his car now". It almost caused an accident this morning in the toll booth. There's another guy around here that totalled his car, and it was do to the throttle body issues.

Put the new throttle body on today, (No, not a Fast TB) and all of the sudden the problems are gone... But Fast denies any problems with their products?

Is it just me or is this a HUGE lawsuit waiting to happen??? That 25% restocking fee might not seem so bad after you got a million or so out of the people who'd rather jepordize the saftey of their consumers over actually putting a tad bit more work into their TBs! Seems to me like Nick Williams made a bad *** business choice to take on the FAST TBs with a safe TB for all of us!

If fast put as much effort into making their TB work as they did the pretty box it comes in, they may have a good product. However, Ive installed about 5 of these, with the latest "VERSION" being a couple weeks ago. These POS's will haunt you from the day you put the on. The cable cam will rotate on the shaft, the spring wont shut the blade, etc... I have also installed more NWs and LS2 TBs, that have stock like driveability on the same combos. Dont buy a FAST, even IF the NWs are on backorder.
