Too Loud!!

Too Loud!!
I bought SLP Loudmouth II for My 02 Firehawk and it sounded great untill I put longtubes w/ offroad y-pipe on the car. As you guessed it is very loud.
I am wondering if I put another bullet style muffler in front of the other will this quiten it down to a reasonable level. MY car was fairly quiet with just the Loudmouth. I like cars to be loud, but mine pops and is very obnoxious at around 3000. Just wondering if anyone else has done the same thing I have and if anyone can offer suggestions other than a new cat-back. Thanks

There's this dog on my street that hates my LMII exhaust. He goes off everytime I start the car and drive past. Once, he was off his leash on the street, and chased my car all the way to the end when I happened to have my mom in the car and stood outside her door barking like he wanted to attack us.
I went WOT in park and that **** took off with his tail tucked. It was hillarious.
I got some LT's ready to go in myself, just waiting on my Y-pipe to ship. He's really going to hate me now

Do a search on this, and the best solution you'll find will be to put a Borla XR-1 muffler on your setup. From what I've read it gives it a more mellow sound and gets rid of the rasp/popping sound.

i would look into turning it into a borlamouth - my car got too loud for my liking when i added my cam and i'm going to try to pop a borla in place of my bullet - if that doesn't help, i'm going to try chambered mufflers before the exhaust tips in addition - if it still isn't quiet enough, i'll open my wallet up and go SLP dual dual with a cutout

Hey, I appreciate all the info. I will have the xr-1 on the hawk very soon. I 'm tired of every cop in town looking when I give it a little gas. The only thing I do like about it right now is scaring the sht out of people when I crank up. Which xr1 do I need to get? 3''? is part # 40085 the one everyone is using? Thanks Everyone

I believe that the LM2 has baffles similar to a bullet muffler as opposed to the LM1 which is just a hollow resonator, so I think that switching to a bullet isn't going to help that much. I would definitely look into a XR1 muffler, my buddy runs this with his Mac's,ORY and it sounds awesome, but keep in mind that you will probably have to beat the underside of your floorpan to get any kind of clearance gain with the muffler, isn't a lot of beating, just a little "massaging". You could also add cats to quiet it down......
