What do you do when you can't get the collector bolts out because they are rusted? The socket strips off of them after a certain amount of torque with a breaker bar...

Doing a header install and its turning out to be a major pita...

i broke the bolts in half with the breaker bar. You can cut them off with a torch or just leave the cats bolted on and work on getting the exhaust manifolds off so they come off together.

When I did my longtube install, I just unbolted the Y-pipe off the cats, then unbolted the manifolds off the heads. They came out with the cats still bolted on them. You just have to get the front of the car high enough, a couple of jack stands placed on the K-member did the trick just fine.

I broke about half of the original exhaust bolts when I was doing my headers and exhaust. It didn't really matter though cause they would break so that you could still take everything apart. Everything came off really easily.

I always just put the socket in a vice, stick a punch through the ratchet side and pound that bitch out. Its never failed me.
