Default Plugs and Wires

Well gents my car goes down to Speed Inc this weekend. The're installing my headers and Cat back system. Larry at Speed inc in Schaumburg says that if I want a dyno tune he would recommend that I replace the plugs and wires. quick question does this matter?? and how much would you think new plugs and wires would run?

I replaced my plugs and wires when i put my lt's in. The install is verry easy with the mainifolds out of the way. MSD wires 50-60$$ Ngk tr55 plugs 1.50$ each.

I can see the plug swap, but the wires... I dunno. Now's a good time to do it while you're in there, but don't understand why it's necessary for you to have a dyno tune.

I agree. Some new plugs would probably be a good idea. But wires....that all depends. How many miles are on the wires? And are they the stock ones? If you've got stock wires with reasonably low miles on them, I would just leave 'em. There is nothing to be gained from the swap unless the stock ones are bad (aged). LS1 wires are so short, and the ignition system so powerful that wire swaps yield no power gains unless the wires being replaced have gone bad.

I'd leave the stock wires, but put in some NGK TR55 plugs. Speed Inc. sells those.

Leave the stock wires, unless you're having some serious issues with them. Replace the plugs and go for it.
