Default Anyone else not notice much MPH gain with headers?

I only gained about 1 mph with SLP headers and Y pipe wcats on another car. Anyone else have the same thing happen, or better gains?

The et went down 2 tengths though.

Sounds like you could use a tune.

Don't forget about air quality when you made those passes. Weather alone can make several tenths/mph difference.

Similar conditions when I went.

Car was an A4 02 z28 (3.23 rear)

went 13.28 @106 stock w/lid

went 12.98 @110 catback

went 12.73 @111.xx headers

went 12.52 @111 on nittos.

Put down 323/320 on the dyno...although those seem real low. Maybe it was the tune.

Im gonna try and find a very mild cam and retune the car that way.

I' ve gone 107 with a 'verter, with a good tune. I have dynod 20 more RWHP, with LTs and a stall ( locked ), than with MACs and a stock verter. I would expect you should gain a good 2-3 tenths, and a a MHP or two, if you could hook up. With my stall and LTs, I can' t floor it until after the 60' on stock tires.

I suggest a tune, and I' m sure you will find some good gains

SLP's are the bottom of the totum pole when it comes to headers.

What he said.

There's more to weather than Temperture. Namely air pressure or Baro. If you don't track the weather closely, you can see drastically different results on a naturally aspirated car.

Am I reading this right? You picked up 3 tenth's with just a cat back?

If I remember right, each tenth equals about 10 rwhp - which means you picked up about 20rwhp. Sounds pretty good to me, considering you kept cats on the car.

With headers and my duals, I usually saw a pickup of around 30 rwhp on average. Over stock manifolds and stock Y.
