Default ***QTP Electric Cutout Controller***

Well it looks like we made our even toys more fun to play with.

Introducing the Quick Time Electric Cutout Controller

• Controls up to 2 QTECs
• Calibrates each motor independently and synchronizes their position (open, closed, partial open)
• Automatic close at power up
• Digital status display shows door position
• Manual pushbutton operation for open, close, or partial open
• User configurable partial open position
• Automatically open or close by grounding or not grounding the trigger wire (for use with engine management system)
• Short circuit protection on motor drive electronics
• Fault detection and reporting

Some pics

Here is a small video of it in action. Nothing special the video.
http://www.quicktimeperformance.com/...Controller.wmv

Now this is a working prototype and production will be running shortly.

This will be an option for our product but hooks up to existing QTECs. Just replaces the toggle switch.

Price will be around $100.00.

What do you guys think?

How big is the controller (I didn't see the video)? About the size of a deck of cards? Pretty badass idea in my opinion!

1 3/4" wide and 2 1/4" tall. Its very small. We will supply a velcro tape on the back so you can tape it to the dash or any where you like. Or in between the seat and out of site.
Controls 1 or 2 units.

I always thought a Wot-switch cutout opening would
be bad-***. Problem is, daily driving WOT opportunities
are often less than the opening time. Can you / is this
rigged so a WOT switch would open it, and close on
release? Is there a faster-actuating motor option
(I know you like to call the slow opening speed a
"feature" but still...)?

The trigger wire can be hook to any activation switch(WOT, Boost, RPM or ECU). The trigger wire when grounded would open the valve and when the ground is broken it would close the unit. There are no plans on a faster motor at this time.

I think it's a cool unit, but I would try and make it smaller if you could. I think you would get a lot more purchases (mine included), it the unit was somehow capable of being integrated into a panel of some sort as opposed to being velcroed on. A 2 1/16" gauge like mounting option would be really wicked.

I was thinking the same thing.

How do the new Z06's do it? Do they use a linear actuator or just a faster motor? I think this would be a cool feature as when I'm getting ready to go WOT I already feel like Han Solo prepping the Millenium Falcon for light speed.

Hi Barry,

I would agree with this idea, or at least possibly having the wires exit the controller from the back so that it can be mounted flat.

I think that I heard somewhere that it is a feature on the 2006 Z06....something to that effect. but I could be 100% wrong too.

I am taking your suggestions. We are looking into making the controller in a 2 1/16 gauge style.

why don't you just make a switch on the cutout itself to stop it when it opens fully and closes fully it would be much cheaper and make your product last allot longer

because mine quit working right about a month after getting it because it kept rotating after it was fully opened

i think it should come standard to make the product work correctly for years not just months

Did you call us. Because it sounds like the coupler was loose. And all you need to do is tighten it. We have over 10,000 out there and have minial issues. Most isses are from being installed wrong. Call us if you have aproblem. Thats what we are here for.
