Smaller starter motor? LS1, LS2 etc? Does anyone know if the LS2 starter motors are smaller then an LS1/6 starter and if there interchangeable?
Is there any smaller aftermarket ones available?
Or is it just stock and no alternatives?

A while back I did some real quick research into smaller starters, and the ones they make for the sb350 are actually the same or heavier than our stock starters (8 lbs). Also the smaller starters have the starter body sitting off away from the block more than the stock units, because of the gear reduction unit, so you probably wouldn't gain any additional clearance either.
