Default Spark plug unthreaded itself, and came out today.

I put headers on about 6 months ago. I changed the spark plugs(AutoLite) and wires. Ever since it's made a pretty loud ticking, I thought it was valvetrain noise, but apparently not. Had my clutch changed yesterday, and today, one of my spark plugs came out. Apparently I put in the wrong spark plugs, and they unthreaded, and now the heads are coming off. Anyone ever heard of this. What happened exactly, I thought all spark plugs for 98-02 Camaro's should work?

Why are the heads coming off?
Did you mean to say that you ruined the spark plug threads on the heads and now you have to take the heads off to repair the spark plug threads?
I am 99.99% that all stock LS1's take the same spark plug.

That's correct as far as I know. I've used NGK TR55s in a '98, '99, and '00 LS1 and they worked great in all three. I'm sure '01/'02 could use the same plugs as well.

That's what they told me. When I bought them I bought the ones that said for 98-02 Camaro's.

Yea, the threads are gone now. They're going to take the heads off, and re-thread the hole somehow.

Seems likely, not sure how else the threads could get damaged, other than overtightening maybe......

I'm thinking that's what happened. It was my first time changing spark plugs. Stupid mistake on my part, I know, but I didn't know that could happen
