Default Powersteering pump?

My powersteering pump just took a dump on me, so I am looking for something of a better quality but havent come up with anything. Any recommendations?

Don't know, but I'm curious about something. When it went on you, can the car still drive fine with the belt still spinning that pulley? Or is it not drivable.

Mines got 113k miles on it, i'd say the quality is plenty good

Just replace it with a new one and it'll last longer than the LS1 will.

look into Turn One.. they make power steering pumps that wont burn up.. cost is $249

do a google search for "Turn One Power Steering".. there was an article about them in the last GMHP

you can get a turn one pump, or you can get an underdrive crank pulley+another stock ps pump. I would do the latter....

Tks. I just heard our pumps usually brun up quicker when it the car sees the track a lot. So I figured I would just get something a little better.

And yes, the car does drive fine. The only difference is it is harder to steer, and now I have a nice whinning sound coming from the pump. Actually had someone mistake it for a s/c once.
