Fast LSX Intake or SLP?
I've been thinking about getting an LS6 intake manifold for my 02 Trans Am. I see SLP makes on claims 15 HP ranging from 400 to 500 dollars, and Fast LSX makes one claims about 20 ranging from 800 to 900 dollars. Is it worth the money for the LSX intake manifold or should I just go for the SLP? Last question, any other companies make these intake manifolds that are worth looking at?

If you don't have a huge cam or a stroker motor, then get/keep the LS6 intake. On a bolt on car it's probably not worth sacrificing power below 4500 rpm and making a few more above 4500 rpm. With the stock cam/rev limiter, the benefit of the FAST will be seen just before you have to shift. You will have a very narrow rpm window that you'll have to stay in if you don't want your car to feel like a slug.

All the dyno's I've seen with a fast 90 on a basically stock car show loss. It is guaranteed to suck under 4500 rpm. Unless your car is a track car, or a big stroker motor, then it will feel soggy and be no fun down low. Your case is a LITTLE different Mr. AFR's, 1 7/8 headers and cam.

That's just it, I don't care about dyno numbers, just track times
I also drive it everyday in stop and go traffic, 20-60 minutes to go 11 freaken miles

Depending on the plans for the car....then make your decision. If you never plan on doing atleast a cam and heads....if not nitrous or big cubes then I would probably stay with the LS6 intake. To many people just start buying stuff that they hear people talk about, or that they see other people buying on the internet....the serious and smart enthusiasts develop a plan for a car and then mod accordingly. Figure out you ultimate goal and direction with the car, and then go from there.
