Default Lid ?

Ok so i just got my first ls1 car and its all stock except for a k&n filter and a magnaflow catback. Im gonna get a lid for it but couldnt find exactly what im looking for. I know I have seen a smoked lid before but cant find any vendor that sells them. Also I know alot of people have fitment issues with some lids such as coming uncliped and rubbing on the hood so what does everyone think is the best fitting lid that people seem to have the least fitment issues with?

I don't know about smoked lids, but my SLP lid fits great.

MTI used to have clear and carbon fiber. +1 for SLP.

I've never had any problems with my lids: Clear MTI, Whisper, and my current Direct-Flo.

In a thread like this you'll get 6 of one answer and half a dozen of another answer.

TSP, SLP & MTI all seem to be good lids.

TSP is the only one I have never heard of rubbing (doesn't mean they don't just never seen it posted). I have on all the others.

Whisper seems to be the most likely to crack. Again this is just a generally observation from the numbers of posts I've seen and read.

Essentially, any will do. And if it fails after a few years then it's only $90.00

A lid is a lid . I have a Direct-Flo lid for sale if you are interested. $55.00 shipped to you. Modified to point MAF straighter at TB. Works with stock MAF or 85mm MAF.

SLP is a lid that is constructed greatly. Some have complained that it rubs, but I've never had a problem with mine on either of my 2 f-bodies.

I'd take a TSP lid as being slightly better designed.
