Default LS6 manifold/stock TB

before anybody asks, yes i have indeed read the sticky about induction, and have used the search button.. and i am left with one question...

im highly considering getting a ls6 manifold very soon, my question is would i need a new/larger TB to accomodate, or would the stock '98 TB work with the LS6? thanks for the help

Have your stock TB ported for max gains with the new LS6 intake.

The 78mm "stock" TB came on the 01+ LS1's that have the LS6 manifold stock, so yes it will work.

so are you implying that i would need the STOCK tb off of a 01 or 02 to replace my 98? or are the 98tb's 78mm as well? thanks for all the input guys, appreciate it

98-02 are the same size TB. You can reuse your stocker as that is what the 01-02 cars use with the LS6 intake.

No, you do not need to get a new throttle body in order to work with the LS6 intake.
