what size freeze plug

Default what size freeze plug

i am deleating my egr and air when i install longtubes and true duals, i was just wanting to know what size of freeze plug i need to plug the hole left behind in my intake manifold? someone said that i had to buy a new intake to do it, but i could have sworn that i read on here that you just need to plug it with a freeze plug...... Thanks!

yeah i used a freeze plug and it worked fine, I don't remember the size, i think 1.25 inches, or something like that that sorry i couldn't be of more help but a freeze plug does work

its a 1 3/8" freeze plug, check out LS1Camaro.net they have a nice walkthrough for removing AIR and EGR

if your getting headers with emission your gonna need block off plates as well... other than that your local auto parts store will hand you a 1-3/8" universal freeze plug

I generally love Oreilly's, but the 1 3/8 I got from them didn't fit for crap!

I think as long as you tighten it up really good it should seal up fine

It's not a regular brass/stainless freeze plug if that is what you are thinking. It's a 1 3/8" expandable plug. It has a bolt that tightens it up...just remember, you are tightening it into a plastic intake, so make it snug, but don't crank it down too hard.

you will probably have to expand it a bit before you can get it to tighten in the intake without turning

so, when i ask for the plug, just ask for an expandable plug then... will some place like autozone, or advanced auto have them?

the rubber expanable freeze plugs at oreilly. They expand upto a 1/4'' so get one that will barely squeeze into the hole and tighten it. Or go and get a FAST 90 and forget it. lol

Or

Is it a plug that goes from 1" down to 3/8" ?

35mm .60 at your local parts house.
