Default where is your electric cutout located?

I am considering an electric cutout but I want to place it where it won't interfere with ground clearance, and won't rub on the car's underbody.

Anyone have pics or can clearly explain where you have yours located?

Thanks.

Most people place them in the I-pipe, right where it takes the bend upwards to go over the rear end, and rotate the flange/motor for max ground clearance.

Mine's under the rear seat, bring the electric cutout with you when you get it welded in for the correct orientation. Ground clearance shouldn't be an issue, unless your car is lowered.

I also want to be sure it'll be worth it. I hear that on nitrous runs the gains are considerable.. like 20hp or so. Can anyone verify that?

Gains are in proportion to how much of the total
exhaust restriction is downstream of the cutout,
and how much your intake/heads/cam/headers
are able to push down an open pipe. A stock car
sees a small improvement only at the top end.
The harder you breathe, the more not exhaling
through a straw helps.

I understand that.. it just appears that the gain on a nitrous car with heads/cam would be greater than that of a N/A car with heads and cam.

I would assume before the resonator. If it was behind, there would be no gain since the air already went through the "muffler".
