Default Dual/Dual silencer cone

Where is the silencing cone on the factory SS dual/dual system? How did everyone remove it?

On LS1Sounds and around this board I have heard of the silencer cone. I just want to know where it is so I can remove it.

On some, but not all D/Ds, it was a large flat washer looking piece welded in right where the drivers side tailpipe connected to the muffler. You had to cut the tailpipe off the muffler to remove it. I think it was a pretty small percentage of them that got it.

LOL...the infamous "cone of silence"...I actually had one on my '97 SS , it was right at the entrance to the muffler coming out of the "over the axle pipe"...when I ditched my D/D on the '00 SS, I checked for the cone and it wasn't there. Very few LS1 cars got the cone..it was mostly the LT1 SS's .
