Default LS6 Intake a good thing to have for a cammed LS1?

Anyone have a stock intake after a cam install and upgrade to a ls6? Is it a huge diff?

The LS6 will give you 10-15 crank hp on a stock LS1. Even bigger gains with more mods(cam). The choice is yours.

you would be dumb not to... because you have to take off the stock intake to cam it anyways

The intake can stay on the LSx engine for cam installs.

What he said.. Intake does not need to come off to install a cam..

But yes a LS6 intake will be a good thing to have if you go with a bigger cam.

How bad would you loose power above 6000 rpm with an MS3 and an LS1 intake?

the ls6 intake doesn't outperform the ls1 intake until 4k rpm. but i'd guess a ~10-15 rwhp lack if you use your ls1 intake with a cam like the ms3.

I am spinning to 6500.. The cam is a 222/222 .566 .566 113lsa makes good mid range power. I am hoping to get the car around 370 to the tires. I have LT's, lid, 4.10s and a EFILive tune.

I noticed a difference when I switched from a ls1 to a ls6 intake, and I have a decent sized cam. No dyno or track numbers with it yet, but definitely 10-20 rwhp gain (somewhere in there).

A intake is a good buy but with a cam its a must to get some nicer HP numbers!

I ran a split version of that cam and did 392 with full bolt-ons.

I believe it's 2001 LS1's and later all came with the flat bottom LS6 intake. Can someone check part numbers to verify that??
