Default BBK 80MM throttle body?

I am thinking about installing a 80mm BBK throttle body,
is this mod worth it? how much power can i expect to pick up.

Is there anyone using a BBK on there LS1 camaro, mine is a 01 with the stock LS6 intake.
will the BBK have throttle sticking problems air whistle sounds?

Also i was looking into the NX 85mm throttle body does anyone know anything about this or using one on there LS1?

thank you for your help

IMO, the BBK is not worth it, especially with all of the 90mm TB's on the market now. If you want to upgrade to a FAST manifold in the future, your BBK TB won't cut it.

doese the BBK breath more air than the stock Throttle body,

port your stock one, and leave it at that. it will gain just as much if not more performance wise and is much cheaper than buying a new one. like Ferocity02 said - if you ever upgrade to a 90mm setup that tb won't work.

not looking at all to upgrade to a LSX intake or 90mm T-body.

But i do see your point,
I was looking at the new NX 85mm throttle body, it is realy nice,
does anyone have one of these, how is it?

For an LS6 manifold, use a stock ported TB.

IMO, port your stock TB. No need to step up in size untill you get a larger intake.

you have 4 different folks(only folks to respond in the thread) all telling you the same thing - port your stocker. i don't think this can get any more clear cut unless another 20 people come in and say it again.

Is it worth porting the stock throttle body? I really dont want to pay someone $100+ just to port my stock TB.

i tried porting mine and ended up f**kin it up so ended up buying a 80mm BBK.. i agree with everyone better off gettin ur stock one ported. proboly no gains because of the size of the LS6 intake the BBK comes with a adapter to go from the stock size to 80mm that also push's ur throttle body out more away from the intake.. i had to cut up my rubber boot to get my air lid to fit.. it does have a cool little whistle tho.. looks good to.. and these throttle bodys don't stick.. its from ppl over tightening the TPS sensor.. it bottoms out on the throttle blade shaft.. i ended up grinding it down just enough for the throttle to move freely. hope this helps

I ported my Throttle Body, I had some noticeable gains, plus it is worth it in the long run for doing more mods down the road. I wasnt gonna pay anyone $100 to port mine either. Just follow the instructions on the thread.
