Default stop running rich until tune?

Since my header install I'm running pretty rich. I need to take it on e 3 hour trip this weekend and was wondering if there is any way to lean it out until I get my tune next week. It leaves you smellin pretty bad and I don't wanna deal with if on a 3 hour trip

Can I not put a resistor of some value in the intake air temp harness, you know, opposing the idea of making it think there is cooler air coming in I could make it think it was warmer air to lean it out? Or would that just make it and the O2s fight and not really lean it out

Basically you have to drive it for about 200 miles, that'll get the LT trims to close to what they need to be, the computer usually takes that long to compensate for the freer flowing exhaust, at least that's the way it seemed to go with mine.
200 miles is usually what I drive in a week, after 200, it seemed to not be putting out as much black smoke, and the gasoline smell definately got less.
It may be all in my head, but my gas mileage has gotten back to 19mpg, and the car seems to be running better.
A tune will certainly help get the A/F back to normal, might try a call to your tuner to see if they can fit you in prior to your trip, for just a basic tune

My tuner is tsp, they don't just "fit you in" lol. They do their customers pretty good, but they are a very busy place. I have a custom tune from them but I monitor and tweak a little as I need to with a predator, which has been sent off to predator until next week. . .

The long highway trip seems to have helped out a lot with it learning the new setup, I don't smell like gas right now
