Default Throttle Cable Slack

How to i go about adusting the slack in the pedal? I think this is preventing my throttle body from opening all the way.... took a reading and its only opening 85%. Theres a **** load of slack in the pedal, i took a gander and i couldnt see the cable that everyones talking about adjusting. In my Haynes it says in 2000+ models there is no mechanical cable but a tps at the pedal and an electric motor at the TB?? I'm a little confused. Maybe tommorow when i have some light I'll remove the knee bolster.

If you have traction control I believe you can adjust the cables.. there are tabs or something you need to push in then you can move them in/out. If you do not have traction control there is no adjustment available in the throttle cable.

I ended up bending the pedal up a bit rather than using a spacer. That took out about 1/8". So for the rest of the 1/4" , Its going to have to be had by somehow adjusting the rotating assembly by the battery (TCS Servo). That piece seems to only want to go so far and stop on something. Maybe I just need a new throttle cable. These things tend to stretch over time.

Is your throttle body blade hitting the stop? If it is, then all the pedal adjustment in the world is not going to help you. You need to grind down the TB stop instead.

http://installuniversity.com/install...sity/index.htm

Click install documents on the left, then Throttle Body Bump Stop Mod under Air Induction.

You might check the spring on the TB too if it gets to hard to push or pushes to easy.

The cam i about a 1/4" away from hitting the bump stop. Grinding the stop isn't helping me if i cant hit it to begin with.

**** I bent that damn peddle up quite a bit. Took all the slack out on the peddle side, but only gained about 1/8". The 1/4" thats left must be had elsewhere? But i will tell ya after driving around i could defiently feel a difference. It seemed like I was being robbed some power before. I guess all i can do is to keep tweakin it.
