airlid=problems?

Default airlid=problems?

just got an MTI airlid installed with K&N filter...engine has random misfires exhaust rattles...airlid...bad luck????

Don't think the airlid is the culprit, exhaust rattles cause it's either the cat gone bad or maybe the heat shield, but airlid has nothng to do with that. as for the misfire could be a worn spark plug.

Did this happen right after the install? Make sure you have everything clamped down snug, and you do not have any air leaks. Did you put extra oil on the filter. To much oil on one can let excess find its way to the MAF and fool it to not know how much air is passing it. Probably nothing related to the lid though. Look over everything you did again.

Good question, also didn't think about the k&n oil.

it did happened like a day or so after the install like a goiod 36 hours after...but MTI installed it not me...and they are professionals....

Air lid shouldn't cause any problems like that. It's got to be a coincidence ... but check the spark plugs for the misfires and wires (all are truely attatched at both ends). As for the rattle, maybe a heatshield, or cat gone bad (either way, not caused by the lid)

I vote for oil on the MAF sensor wire... if nothing else changed. You should NOT have a tuning issue just adding a lid and cai kit, even if you have leaks all over the place.
