Default Thoughts about Magnaflow catbacks

I am considering getting these put on my 98 Firebird Formula. Just wondered what people know or how they like them if they have them or have heard them.

I've heard good about them. Deep tone, doesn't resonate like some others, sounds nice and deep at wot and resonably priced. A good overall value. My best friend is getting ready to put one on his TA. LS1sounds.com, has a bunch of different sound clips of them on different setups if you wanted to hear what they sounded like.

i have it with LTs, OFY, cam. Overal Its great, I like it. Nice sound at idle. Sounds good at WOT, especially if you have lts, it will get pretty loud at WOT.

I have magnaflow, and the only thing I don't like are the tips. Other than that, it sounds clean, a little bit of rasp, but not much. On my camaro I had sweet thunder true duals and this magnaflow is a blessing. Even with lt, ory, I can still talk to the person next to me. Very tame at cruising. Turns heads at full throttle.

I love mine. I think it has good deep tone like no other catback. I cant wait to hear it after I install my headers and ORY in a couple weeks. I'm at the point like T/AFOSTERWS6 is, I'm trying to decide whether to go with cats or not. I'll probaly just go without cats for now and if i dont like it i'll put cats on later. But anyways i would deffenetly go with the magnaflow you wont regret it by any means.

So far sounds good. I heard Flowmaster sucks for flow, so Im making sure before I get Magnaflow that no one has problems with it.

I just ordered a Magnaflow today. Tbyrne.com (sponsor) has a good group purchase going on now, not sure how much longer though.

Rich (Oxidizr on LS1tech) at Magnaflow recently built me a kickass one-off stainless y-pipe with their (pre-production) high flow cats, and a custom Magnaflow catback with the tips off the Corvette catback.

I am frikkin overjoyed with it. Nice exotic sound, quiet at cruise but sounds like a pissed off elephant at WOT.

There's a post in this forum if you search for it, complete with lots of pics and a walkaround video.

If I ever did have to buy exhaust again, I would never buy anything else !

Cheers,
Rob (Bad30th)

IMO, It's one of the best sounding cat-backs available for the LS1. Not a bad price either.
