Default tick and squeek

every time i start up my car and drive the first few minutes i can hear a ticking noise like a exhaust leak but i have checked all over and no leak. a few minutes later its gone. so then when i turn off my car i hear a pully type squeeking coming from around the alternator. can these problems be directly related or could they both be seperate?????

I am having this problem currently. Do you have a manual car? If so, odds are you have a bent pushrod or so. I am just swaping my bent ones with some stock ones that are in good shape. You can get a whole set for like 20 bucks from somone on this forum. That ticking is annoying as sh@# isnt it?

The ticking if you know where its coming from might help to find a solution but if its from the top of the motor check the drivers side on the fuel rail there is a EVAP selinoid a black canister looking thing with lines going to it, mine ticks on cold start ups but once warmed up goes away like your problem. and the squeeking could be the Idler pulley alot of peoples squeek and you can either buy and new one or take the old one off and put new bearings in it and your problems should be fixed but if its the alternator pulley you might want to get a new one from the dealership to stop the squeeking aswell. or just get a underdrive pulley and a overdrive alternator pulley if you have a system to make sure everything gets charged.
