Default Throttle Body Spacer on a LS1...Any reviews?

My buddy which owns a f-body was wanting to get a little information from anyone who might had tried one of these...

Did you see any ponies from it?
Any throttle respondse? and so forth...

Of course I have no use for one on my car with FI but his is mostly stock with headers...

If it matters at all his is a M6...

TIA fellas...

There was a thread about this a long time ago.Put this in the turbonator list. It's a waste of money and does nothing. On older carbed setups its works, but not on fuel injected setups like ours.

someone can correct me if im wrong but i have found them to be useless in a sittuation like the ls1 where the intake manifold isnt metal but plastic which doesnt become heat soaked. doubt you would see any gain. not entirely sure how much heat the intake manifold soaks up though

If you want someone to tell you they work then fine I'll do it.

I haven't done it to mine. But I did have a v6 mustang and I put one on that. It was all stock and auto. I raced a 03 mustang cobra and won. I will be sure to buy a tb spacer for every vehicle I have from here on out.

Ecept my ss. Which is already the fastest car on the planet.

happy?

Actually on one of my old autos, It helped alot in throttle response, the spacer brings your cable from your TB out, and makes it stretch to full potential. So when you hit your foot on the pedal it can go to WOT in a flash. Basically it will make you seem like your car is faster, only because your pedal is right at the top. It also will kill your Cruise control in some years, because the cable for that is shorter. If you have an auto, I would try this out, I had fun with mine.

Waste of money. Tell him to buy something worth while. An air lid? Save for HPT? Anything, just don't waste money on something that won't make the car any faster.

i dont think there was any gain from the one i got. i took it back off the car. when i put my new motor together i am gonna use it again though as a generic, home-made nitrous plate. a friend used a mill and cut out all the junk inside the spacer, that was supposed to make the air swirl or whatever, and i am gonna drill a hole and tap it to fit my nitrous nozzle through the side of it instead of cutting a hole in the bellow. i think this is gonna be pretty cool.
