chambered exhausts

very goog sound
you can go with GMMG or stainless s works for a catback,
or you can get some true duals from TSP with sweet thunder chambered
GMMG is 850 new with optional tips, SS works is expensive too and might be a little quieter
or trua duals are around 500 with sweet thunder, maybe less cant remember
go to ls1sounds.com and you ll get an idea of the sound
its not going to be quiet either way with LTs

GMMG is one of the best sounding catbacks on the market for LS1's and is of the highest quality. Also, the tsp true duals with the sweet thunder chambered mufflers sound great too, provide more power than any catback with y-pipe, and are less expensive as well. However, the true duals are dumped right before the rear axle so you wouldnt have any tips coming out the rear of the car unless you had a shop fab the rest of the piping to make the go over or under the rear axle and out the back (gets expensive though). You can also simply buy a stainless works chambered muffler and install it in the i-pipe (similar to an slp loudmouth system) and ditch the stock muffler out back. As long as its a quality chambered muffler your using though ti should work well and sound great.

As for sound, you can't beat chambered. The louvered inner wall of the muffler does create some backpressure to cause a small loss of power, but most people don't notice it. If you want a truly unrestricted exhaust, go with bullets or Magnaflows. Bullets are LOUD, though. Magnaflows flow just as good, but are quiet to the point that some want it louder. But chambered is still one of the best sounding exhausts I've ever heard.

"Stainless Works" is faced with an “overstock” situation and is offering our 3 different stainless steel exhaust kits for the 1993-2002 F-Bodies at special “inventory reduction” pricing;
Part number “CA9302CH” (suggested retail is $838.95, special inventory reduction cost is $587.27) is a “Chambered Exhaust” system consisting of a 3.5” chambered front section and 3” rear sections. The system includes 3.5” slash cut tips as standard equipment, Y-tips or wide oval tips are available as an option for an addition $100.00.
Part number “CA93023.0” (suggested retail is $681.45, special inventory reduction cost is $477.02) is a “Turbo Muffler System” which has a 3” front section with 3” tailpipes.
Part number “CA93023.5” (suggested retail is $838.95, special inventory reduction cost is $587.27) is also a “Turbo Muffler System” but has a 3.5” front section and 3” tailpipes.
The 3.5” turbo system is better suited for extreme horsepower applications where a single 3” system is not large enough. the two are VERY close in sound. SW uses 3 sections, and GMMG 2, but for some reason it seems the SW is slightly louder? Both sound unbelievable with headers/y/cats. Sound is subjective, but I think this is the best sounding LS1 combo out there

mcamp001,
Are you guessing on this or are you sure? I am thinking about doing the SW. I love the GMMG, but if the SW is a little louder, maybe that would work out better for me. I just don't want to buy something raspy or quieter than GMMG.
