Default Doing my FAST 90 tomorrow....

any pointers from those who have already done it? Is it really necessary to take the top half of the manifold off as the directions say to inspect the gaskets? Any tricky parts I need to look out for?
Thanks

I have taken several of these things apart, and I'll be the first to tell you that they can't seal for dog $hit in the form they arrive at your door. Take the top piece off, and run a very small bead of silicone every 2-3 inches over the gasket. Then, spread this bead down through all of the sealing channels. After that's done, bolt the top back down and let it sit over night. Then, get a razor blade and trim any RTV the squeezed out, and look in you intake runners and make them clear of any seepage as well.

Oh yeah, port that thing while it's apart.

Watch where the top piece rests on the bottom. Over time you will notice oil seepage from the manifold. If you take your PCV setup off the car, then this will not happen.
