Default Oil Pan Gasket

Whats the easiest(if there is an easy way) to replace the gasket? I was told that there was no way you could replace it unless you drop the kmember. Basically that it couldnt be done with the engine/kmember in place? I'd appreciate any help you guys could give me. Im just trying to figure out if its something i want to tackle or if I should just pay somebody to do it.

thanks guys,
chris

You have to drop the pan and drill out the rivets holding the old gasket in place. Not sure how you'd go about getting the pan off though. You may have to jack up the engine to get clearance. Don't worry about replacing the rivets on the new gasket.
