Default Under the axle true dual guys, come in

I've read as many threads as I can find on the under the axle true dual setups, but the one specific thing I haven't found in any of them is, how close do you hang the pipe to the axle housing when fabbing up the exhaust? I'm assuming that you have the car on a two post lift with the rear at full droop when this is done. Do you put the pipe tight up against the rear with the assumption that the rear is unlikely to ever see full extension unless you decided to go airborne? I'm about to get the duals done and I intend to run 2.5" all the way out the back under the axle and this is the last piece of information I need.

Car was not on a point lift when the work was done. It was on a ramp styl lift with the suspension loaded just like it would be if it was driving around. As far as how close to the axle....just take a look for yourself :

DVST8OR- What if you ever had to put your car on a lift? Wouldn't the rear-end just tear the exhaust out?

I installed flanges right before the axle so I can crawl underneath and unbolt them before I lift the car. I raised it once without unbolting it and the axle rests on the exhaust, but barely. And I have killer hangers, so they will hold the axle no problem.

Lifted it many times on a four point lift and never had any problems. The hangers are really good. But if I had it up for an extended period of time, yea that is what the flanges are there for.

99Hawk962, do you have the Sweet Thunders before the axle or after? Is there enough room to put the tips directly on the end of the 18" mufflers?

I'm going to attempt the unthinkable and do an H-pipe build around my Spohn chassis mount torque arm. I hope it works!
