Question ws6 lower air box on an SS?

So i was at work today and i work at a carmax dealership so we have tons of different cars and new ones coming threw daily but never a "ram air" but i finally got to see one today and really check it out. i was talking to my friend about intakes and he mentioned the ws6 lower box sits higher than the normal camaro trans am boxes.. so i popped the hood of the one we got in and noticed almost an inch in height difference between that one and a regular t/a camaro one.. i tried searching but i couldnt find anything so maybe someone knows.. does anyone know if i switched that bottom portion into my ss if i could still clear the lid under the hood and has anyone done it?? i just want to know so i could look into getting one.. if it doesnt work out i might just throw a couple washers under mine to raise it up a lil.

nope won't work. ther is VERY little clearence under the SS hood. just a couple washers under yours will probably make the lid rub the hood.

It worked on my Ultra Z hood, but I honestly think it's a waste of money to buy... Couldn't tell a bit of difference other than it looked kinda cool... Spend your money on something else.

most guys just raise there boxes. u can use a piece of hose cut in 1/2" long for spacers. hell u can use anything really to make spacers for the bolts.

My SS hood has less than 1/8" clearance to the lid.
I taped little ***** of aluminum foil to various spots
and closed the hood, and looked at the crushed height.
Very little slack.
