When you take it out look at the bottom. If it is FLAT you have one. also if you have a 2001+ You have one.

Is it worth the investment cost to change to an LS6 intake? What are the advantages? I'm guessing slightly better airflow? But just "how" much better is it actually?

a lot better, I don't know the actual numbers or flow charts but the LS1 intake is very restrictive compared to the LS6. Just by itself you'll gain significant horsepower, but it's definately a must if you have heads or a cam. I'm sure someone else knows the numbers though

^If you did buy it, you would feel like I did when I bought a shirt I really liked, only to get home and notice I already had one...

Is there a way to tell without pulling the intake to see if it has a flat bottom? Is there a part # molded into it somewhere?

^^^^^

99.9% sure that you have to have the intake off to be able to tell. I don't remember ever seeing any markings on mine (on the top) to tell if it was a LS6 intake.

Ha ha! It was this sweet button up shirt that I had to have, $50 (both times). And to think it was probably a month between purchases...I'm losing it.
