yeah, i would recommend just scraping all the emissions crap now and getting race style headers, especially if you plan on doing further mods later (like a ls6 intake which doesn't use EGR anyway so a header with EGR would be pointless if you plan on doing LS6 intake later)

right on... ok well heres the stupid question... am i gonna have the check engine light on all the time then? If im goin to forget all the emissions ****, whats the disadvantage of that?

You should be able to get it tuned out by a local performance shop for a small charge. Or find someone locally the has LS1edit or HPtuner and have them delete them.
