An open end wrench works fine.

I usually use a crescent wrench to remove my o2 sensors. They make a socket that is specifically made for o2 sensors, but I'd still still just use a wrench unless you're removing o2 sensors every day.

Advanced Auto sells a socket that has a slit in the side so you can get the sensor out w/out cutting the wires

I bought one of those slitted sockets and tried it once. Went back to using a plain old open end wrench. No big deal.

Thanks. Now if I have problems with a wrench I can try the other options.

You dont have to cut the wires if you use an open end or crescent wrench. I'd LOL if someone cut the wires to try and fit a socket on it!

I use an O2 sensor socket, cost me like $3 and I've used it many times, works just fine.

I had bad luck one with the O2 socket distorting and then rounding the bolt head off, so I've used open end wrenches, and been good. If you can find a 22mm flare wrench, that might eve be better. Always put some anti-sieze on the threads when you install (don't overdue it, you don't want it to get on the sensor itself). I just pulled mine off the headers this week, and they came out pretty easily with some PB Blaster. The header to cat flange bolts are another story though
