Open headers cutoff valve

Re: Open headers cutoff valve
I was thinking of doing this also right where the y pipe starts to bend on both sides it will be loud and prolly make better power on the top end but down low it will prolly suffer I plan on doing heads and cam soon so i might benifit some out of doing duel cut outs.

Re: Open headers cutoff valve
I have two 3in Flowtech cutouts bolted onto my TTS longtubes and I lost absolutely no power over a closed exhaust, which consisted of a;
-custom 2.5 y
-flowmaster collector w/ CC 3disk 3in collector insert (in a feeble attempt to quiet it down)
- slp loudmouth with 18in bullet.
I actually lost a ton of power through the full exhuast it only dynoed 339rwhp 339rwtq while open it dynoed 371rwhp 368rwtq gaining power accross the board absolutely no power loss under closed. However you can attribute most of this to the CC collector insert which blows ***.
After seeing the dyno results I took the CC insert out and removed the Loudmouth rear section and grafted my old stock SS flowmaster mufflered borla carbon fiber tipped semi-rice exhaust. It's quiet as hell but runs pretty strong 7.94 @ 91mph best 1/8 so far, will soon find out what dyno and track losses it causes.
I'd say its worth getting, besides even if you do loose power under lets say 3000rpm you should't be under that rpms while racing unless you're launching like a ***** or have a stock 'weak sauce' convertered auto.
