Default Ok. Give me some feedback/opinions on headers

Ok. I don't know what I want to go with. I currently drive the car 2-3 times a week. The rest of the time, the car sit's in the garage. My current mods are listed in my sig. Eventually I would like to go with a different set of heads and would like to add a dry kit in the next couple of months. Possibly later down the road I would like to go with a bigger motor. I am also adding 3" TD's (don't knw which muffler's yet) with a kooks x-pipe. This is currently what I am looking at:
1. Coated Pacesetter
2. Edelbrock (1-3/4" x 1-7/8" x 3-1/2" collector, mild steel)
3. Kooks (1 3/4" x 3" - Stainless)
4. Kooks (1 3/4" x 1 7/8" x 3 1/2" - Stainless)
5. Kooks (1 7/8" x 3" - Stainless)

I have been talking with Brian at RPM and he has been very helpfull with advice and answering my question. I just can't make up my mind on what exactly I want to do. What do you guy's think? Is it really worth the extra $300-$400 for the kooks? I know everyone says you get what you pay for, and if you buy the kooks you will never have to buy another set of headers again. If I were to choose the pacesetter's, over time will they discolor? rust? I'm pretty sure I will be keeping the car for a long time. I have had my IROC for 8 years now. Let's hear some feedback.

Well the coating will chip after a while. Any stainless steel header will last you pretty much forever, that's the reason I went with them.

If you're not going to extreme with your motor, I'd stick to 1 3/4 x 3. Going bigger is not really neccessary unless you're doing well over 450 to the rears.

I think it really depends what your looking for.

If your looking for a budget setup, all LT's perform about the same, even more so on a stock car.
I went with QTP's (same design as kooks) because I wanted to make the most power, and have and easy installation since I was going to be doing it myself. The fitment and install was awesome and I think i made the right decision, have had them for 1 year now and no problems whatsoever. They tuck up great for max ground clearence, been proven to make great power, are of superb quality and fitment. Thats why I paid the extra 250-300 bucks

I would jump on the QTP's 1 3/4 HVMC. They are selling there high velocity merge headers at the same price I bought my standard LT's a year ago. Hellof a deal if you ask me.

Well, after doing the LT's & TD's, it should put me at 400rwhp. Then in the next few months I will be adding a dry kit. You can get the 1 7/8" for the same price as the 1 3/4"

If you are considering Kooks, maybe get a look at QTPs. Like was mentioned, they are selling the the HVMC collectors at about the same price as the Kooks, and you get at least as good a quality.

I can' t wait to get mine on this weekend.

The high velocity merge collector.

Here's an article on how it works (the Edelbrock LT's are available with them also)....
