Exhaust backfire
In the last few weeks I have been having an exhaust backfire when the car is cold/warming up. It only seems to happen mostly when I pick up the throttle after decelerating. It's not really that bad, but it is annoying. I'm gonna pull the plugs and have a look. They probably need changing anyway. The car seems a little down on power here lately too.
I added a lid and k&n about the same time that this started happening, but that's probably just a coincidence. Let me know what yall think it may be. I forgot to add that the car threw a P1415 code a couple time in a day and after searching the board I found out it was the driver's side air check valve. I replaced that at about the same time it started happening.

It is a loud pop, kinda like a really raspy exhaust pops. It may be normal but it has never done it until recently though. It may be an exhaust leak... but i can't seem to hear it/find it. Oh well, headers and ory going on in a few months anyway, so if it is an exhaust leak it will be fixed then.
I mainly wanted to see if it was something that needed to be fixed. A bad catalytic convertor would be awesome... (kind of speed up the header purchase )
Now that the AIR system is working correctly, would the air pump sending air into the exhaust cause the pop?

thanks for the replies. I'm gonna change the plugs this afternoon. It may be the gasket on the air check valve leaking (I did remove it at about that time). I will get new gaskets today and replace them too.

What I have heard, the popping sound you hear when the car is cold and when you are letting off the gas to shift for example, is the diaphragm in the EGR valve seating/unseating rapidly. It's really nothing to be too concerned about, mine has been doing that when cold for as long as I can remember.
Oh, about the air pump, it wouldn't cause the popping. It's job is to pump air to the cats until they're hot enough to do thier job.

I was having the same exact problem, until I installed LT's and found a broken header bolt. When I fixed this the popping went away. Guess I would go with the exhaust leak near the head theory....
