Default Balancer bolt

Where the hell can you find a longer balancer bolt for the cam swap. I know that you need it to help you with the balancer pulley, but I am having a hard time finding one. Can anyone help? I already have a stock replacement one. Thanks,

Alex

While ive used the longer bolt method sucessfully over 5 times, the 6th and most recent time it seized up and broke inside the crank. There was no explaination for why the longer bolt seized up. I never bothered seriously looking into the threaded rod tool, but I can assure you the next time I install a pulley, ill be using the threaded rod.

Yep, my car was #6 and it's still sitting in the garage with no accessories on the front of the motor and half a bolt in the crank. Use the threaded rod method. PM 618Hawk he's selling tools. It's a little more money then the longer bolt but it'll cost you a lot less then breaking off a bolt, trust me. Plenty of pulley's have been installed with the longer bolt method but there are also more stories of them breaking off. BTW, the bolt went in fine but seized and broke on the way out.

use threaded rod. your just asking for trouble with a longer bolt. 3 weeks ago mine decided to seize on the way out but, luckily i got it out and did the rest of the install with the rod. just did another cam swap this weekend with the rod and no troubles
