1 7/8" Kooks headers
Ok here is the problem. My girlfriend got me some kooks headers for christmas but ordered the 1 7/8" headers instead of the 1 3/4". I was going to install them anyway with my TSP true duals but I've been reading that the 1 7/8" are good for big cams or big cubes. I'm stock except for a lid and I plan on doing heads and cam and maybe a Fast intake but my cam wasn't going to be extreme. I have an 01 Camaro SS. Will I lose a lot of low end power going with these size headers or will this be ok until the H/C setup. Oh I am going with AFR 205 heads and around a 224/224 114 cam. If anyone has any experience with this please help me out.

OK he's asked the Q that i'd like to know about also. I made the noobie mistake with 1 7/8 (not installed), but I thought with heads/cam package w/FAST 90/90 and a tune it would it be OK.
Sorry for the hi-jack but I gotta know.

if either of you plan to spray you will love the 1 7/8 but if not the 1 7/8 will probably be down on average numbers compared to the 1 3/4.i've seen some 408s only pick up around 10 hp but lose 20 ftlbs.

Stay with the 1-7/8. The Kooks are only 24" long primaries and need the extra diameter to actually match up well to a 346. Ideally, a 346 needs a 1-3/4 with a 32" long primary to not be a restriction upto 6800rpm. So, you'd need more diameter if the length is less than ideal. If the headers were 30"+ long then yes, you'd be losing a lot, but the way they sit, it's fine.
