Whistling Sound with new BBK TB???
I got my new BBK 80 mm TB yesterday and installed it. The car seems to have REALLY picked up some power <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> . It pulls HARD all the way up to 6600 RPM (that’s where my rev lim is....never hit it before....) before I realize it <img border="0" alt="[devil]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_devil.gif" /> .
Here is my only problem: <img border="0" title="" alt="[Mad]" src="gr_images/icons/mad.gif" />
At between 20% and 30% throttle and at idle, I get a whistle sound. Above idle (and below 20 %) the sound is gone, and above 30% the sound is gone.
My thoughts: <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />
I am thinking it is the round hole for the ICS whistling. I have already checked the seal between the TB and the intake (was tight).
Help???
Any idea what that could be and how I could get rid of it? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />
Thanks,
Chris

If it's the round hole, then you could try
chamfering the edges with an oversize drill
bit. Just break the sharp on the hole by
twisting the bit with your fingers.

Someone on the corvette site said it is the lip that is at the intake/throttle body surface. The intake is a little bit smaller than 80mm....78mm perhaps....and at 20% throttle, the air is hitting that lip and whistling. How would I go about getting rid of that little lip?

How much would require a before and after on a dyno.
For me it is the sound. Today I used some 120 grit sand paper and rounded the face of the intake (where the TB mounts). This seems to have cut the sound in half.
