Default Edelbrock LTs vs. Pacesetter LTs

My uncle has a '99 Trans Am, and we're looking into putting some LT headers on his car real soon. I know there are better LT headers out there, but it's going to be between these two because they fit his budget better. I've read a good bit on the coated Pacesetter 1 3/4" LTs, but have seen very little information about the new Ti-Tec coated Edelbrock 1 3/4" stepped to 1 7/8" LTs. What are the differences between the Ti-Tec coating on the Edelbrocks and the Jet Hot coating on the Pacesetters? I've read that the Ti-Tec coating doesn't hold heat in as well, and of course doesn't look as good as the Jet Hot coated LTs, but are there any other bad things that I should know about the Edelbrocks?

You dont want the stepped ones. I would stick with the proven power of the Pacesetters. Not saying anything bad about the Edelbrocks at the same time either.
Plus the P-setters look good.

the edlebrocks do have a 3.5" collector. i have seen a set of these and they put my pacesetters to shame. i like my pacesetters and have had good luck with them, but the edelbrocks are a much better quality header for not much more $$$. when i am through with my pacesetters, i am gonna go with the edelbrocks.

Yeah, it's the Edelbrocks with the 3.5" collectors. I wasn't aware that Edelbrock offered these in just 1 3/4". The only ones listed in my SDPC catalog are the 1 3/4" stepped to 1 7/8". Which really doesn't bother me because we're going to be doing heads/cam a little later. I know that the Pacesetters have been proven performers, just tryin to get some ideas about these Edelbrocks since they're close to the same price.

Thats a negative boss. You have any first hand experience with this?

A stepped header such as the E-brocks will make more power over the Pacesetters on any given day, EVEN on a stock internal application. Car Craft tested it!

Don't know much from experience on the E-brocks but I had a set of Pacesetters on my 98 and the looked and performed very well.

I have seen both. I have the Edelbrocks and will be installing them on the new engine.

I would go Edelbrock.

I agree.

Sounds like the quality is definately up to par with the Edelbrocks, which was my main concern. I'm gonna try out the Edelbrocks. Thanks for everybody's input on this.

i agree in any case that a stepped header will work better. (In my opinion) I didn't know or consider the edebrock piece, what was I thinking? I don't know the price. If price is consideration and the number is close, I would def consider the edelbrock piece. plus..... anything is better than the pacesetter Y-pipe, its horrible, at least the one i recieved, is horrible.

Try PMing the guy at Outlaw motorsports he quoted me at what seemd like a great price for the Edelbrock headers with a Y pipe shipped. I will be buying within the next month.

I'm looking at the same two and was wondering -- does Edelbrock have emission hook-ups and a catted Y Pipe?

If they don't have a one, what catted y-pipe will fit the Edelbrocks?

Check the car domain link in my sig. Pics of the edelbrock LT's installed on my 02 SS. My car is making 400rwhp with bolt-ons and cam. My vote is for the Edelbrock's!
