Default Spark plug issue on my 317 heads.

I just put a set of stock 6.0 317 heads on my ls1 turbo project. is there a difference between the plugs on an ls1 and these heads? I am trying to put in a set of tr6's that were on my old heads and they are going into the head pretty far. when I thread them in by hand I can't even get a socket on the plug because the threads are to far in the hole. Any ideas? I called o'reilly's and they said the part numbers for the plugs on the two different numbers are the same.

I have tr6's in my 6.0L heads and they fit just fine. I pulled my heads not to long ago for arp studs and the plugs didn't look to be sticking in to the combustion chamber any further than normal. Might want to try a differand auto store for a compairison.
