Default Question on header install

Im installing a set of FLP headers that originally came out of a 01-02 trans am in my 2000 camaro. Im not having any fittment issues with the actual headers but my air hook ups dont really sit right, The pass side points upward to much and thats after I have massaged it past the ac line, and the other is the same way.
Is it ok to bend these. I would think the optimal fitment would be cutting the flange then an aditional 1" to an 1 1/2" of the pipe and weld the flange back on. Would this be ok.
Thanks
