Question Removing the A/C belt for the track??

Not sure if this is a stupid post: Some one told me that I could remove the A/C belt when I go to the track to get a few more horses. Is this true? Would it be worth it? Do any of you do it?

Not going to see any gains. The compressor has a clutch that allows it to free spin when A/C is turned off.

Yea, you can set it in the PCM with HPTuners as to when it disengages too, although stock setting is fine.

My belt is off right now because i was lazy after the cam install. I'm putting that bad boy back on tomorrow though!

Texas sucks! 45* in the morning 90* in a few hours....

You can take it off and run without it, but you will see no gains from doing so, for the reasons stated before. Now if you removed the ENTIRE system (compressor, evaporator, accumulator, condensor, and lines), you would loose some serious poundage off the nose of the car, which is always a good thing.

90* you complain. Last week it was 15* here. At least it hit 45* today. :/

I <3 cold weather (maby not 15*, but you know what i mean). When it's cold, you can always put on more clothes, but when its hot, naked is as far as you can go.
