Default ory or catted y

Hey everyone I was going to put on a set of longtube headers in the near future and was wondering which way to go. I know the headers will make more noise but I wanted to know if it is neccesary to get a catted y to preserve some tone and not hurt my ears. I have a magnaflow hooked up already and it is relatively quiet which i like. I have listened to ls1sounds.com but it gives only a slight idea as my exhaust sounds different in person compared to their clip. I want to get the cheaper ory but I don't want to have a lot of noise because of this choice please help. Thanks.

i'd get the ORY if it quiet now i doubt it would be too obnoxiously loud after the headers

i just put a whole new exhaust on today. long tubes, and magnaflow. but i have a catted y-pipe so i'm not really sure how loud its going to be with a ory. you might want to first try with some headers.

A good catted y-pipe shouldn't cost you more than 2-3 rwhp. For many, that's a small price to pay for better tone and less smell.

id say go with the ory. as long as u dont have LM u should be fine, and you never know when that extra 2-3 hp might come in good use.

just got ory and magnaflow installed last weekend, it sounds great, not too loud and has a nice low rumble, WOT it sounds mean, interior noise is barely noticable

best of all NO RASP!

Here's my vote. I don't like the o/r rasp either.

I had a ORP with the Hooker LT's and sounded really bad. The catted Y-Pipe was worth it since it deepened the sound and has no rasp. Plus, no exhaust fumes and that got old real fast.
