Default catback

Just ordered a magnaflow catback system and wanted to know how hard it is to install. Is there any cutting, grinding, welding, or does it just bolt on. Or should I just bring it to a muffler shop and get them to install it. Thanks for the input.

It just bolts right on. the hardest part is getting off your old exhaust after that its smooth sailing.

It's very simple, only thing I had to cut was my old exhaust.

It was worth it for me to just take it to an exhaust shop and pay the $80 to get it installed.

I installed my Magnaflow last weekend.

I picked up a used sawzall from the 'returned bargain bin' at home depot for $45 to cut off the old pipe just before the rear end. It worked very well.

The only problem I had was the bolt on the band clamp that connects the stock Y pipe to the 'I' pipe going to the back. It was rusted on there pretty tight, and the bolt is long so a regular socket wouldn't fit. The fact that I just had the back of the car up on jack stands made it hard to reach that bolt and get decent leverage right under the middle of the car. I ended up buying a 1/2" drive deep 9/16" socket and I used an 18" breaker bar to get it off (poor man's impact wrench).

Installing the new pipes was a snap, just follow the directions.

Very simple. I'd say that it should be a must for any "car guy".
