Default Another ram air thread! (pics)

Ok I am in the process of making a ram air for my car. I got a plate made by SUX2BU. I then cutout some of the car to fit the two 4" hoses to run to the grill. I allready had the front bumber off and the front grill cutout. Here are a few pics of what I have so far. I'm still not sure how I want to mount it to the grill.

Here is the plate from SUX2BU. Awsome work!

I also have this grill but not sure what to make to grab the air from it.

Yes it is a DD when the weather is nice. I don't drive it in the rain or snow but I'm in it on nice days.

No I didn't make them. They are from Lowes. I was just looking around and saw them. So I tires them. Not the fit I want against the grill, so I'm goin to try and modify it some.

It's a register boot. it's under the floor vents in your house or, HVAC dept. at Lowe's, Home Depot, etc. Creative

It will help out with bringing in slightly cooler air but that's about it. This has been beaten to death on every message board since the dawn of the internet.

Your project is coming out very nicely though.

Thanks. Yes it is a floor vent. I need to figure out a good way to mount it to the c/f grill. I hope it makes a few hp over the K&N FIPK and FTRA that I had. I think if anything it will bring the IAT's down.

Lots of people argue how much it works. But EVERY car that has been to the track with a similar set up has gained 1-3 tenths and 1-3 MPH (depending on what set up they previously had). You can't argue with track results.

I would like to see someone log the before and after IAT's.
I wonder how much the air is being heated by the radiator (or is the A/C?) with the Free Ram Air setup.
...not arguing, just wondering.

Its not. air flows fron the front of the radiator and then thru it. these set ups are infront of the radiator, so unless you hook up your radiator fans to blow backwards these set ups NEVER see hot air. The air is only heated after going thru the radiator.
Put your hand infront of the radiator while the fans are blowing. You'll feel cool air hitting your hand. Now put your hand behind the radiator and you'll feel hot air.Its a common misconception.
