Default Are Budget Long Tubes Worth It?

I really haven't heard anything bad about Pacesetters. Are they easy to install? Hows the fit and finish? Is ground clearance any worse then any others? Anyone not like them and get something else, and why? Thanks for any help.

Do a search under "Pacesetter" and you will have hours of reading.

They are very good, easiest to install, and happen to be the cheapest on the market.

Have had mine for about a year, they went on easier than the hooker super comp's I had on my last car, and look better than the hookers after a year.

I have been racking my brains wether to get the jet LT or the ceramic coated pacesetter LT's over the last week. Been thinkin about goin with the pacesetter y pipe as well. What do yall think after looking at mods below?
The mods I have are helping me turn 13.2 preety consistant and am wondering how much time I could drop from the 13.2's. low 12 sec club would be nice!

You aren't gonna drop a full second, but maybe .3. Longtubes are definately worth it. No need to buy the jet hots, when you can buy a quality header like the pacesetters for much cheaper.

If your not goin to go the stainless steel route, I don't see any reason to get anything other than pacesetters. The offical decision isnt out on the edelbrock headers yet.

Any thoughts on the super cheep non-ceramic coated pacesetters? I live in Las Vegas and dont really have to worry about rust.

What about headman LT headers, or even Flowtech?

Both of those are the WORST headers on the market. Don't even consider them.

I'd get the Pacesetters and the Texas Speed and Performance y-pipe for the Pacesetter headers. The Pacesetters headers themselves are of excellent quality, but the Pacesetter y-pipe is garbage compared to the Hooker and TSP y-pipes.

The problem with the Pacesetter y-pipe is the merge. It has a rough cutout and one pipe overlaps, I've seen two different y-pipes from Pacesetter and none are really nice, but one was horrible. -Joshua

Exactly what everyone else said.

Definitely get the Pacesetters. I'd reccomend buying through Texas Speed, because they have a deal on coated Pacesetters with a TSP ORY (better Y-pipe than Pacesetter's) for $500. Great deal if you ask me.

hell yes...why spend more money for minimal gains, most LT's dyno around the same. I picked up brand new pacesetters, an offroad y and O2 extensions for 422 shipped. That plus the cost of my catback and the muffler I am putting in is still cheaper than some catbacks on the market(i.e. corsa, gmmg, borla). LT's, a y and a catback for less that 750 bucks

Anybody go with the pacesetters and then swap them out for something else? Why? And what did you go with?

Don't mean to hijack the thread, but how bad does the car drive with headers and an ORY with no tune? Do you need o2 sims if you get a tune right away?
