180, 160, or stock thermo??

Default 180, 160, or stock thermo??

I might be looking to install a new thermo to my 00 trans am, but im not sure which is more effective, can someone give a few pointers??

get th stock one and just tune your fans to run more accuratly with the stock temp one

Go 160 and program the fans to come on at 185 on low, and high at around 200. A 180 will be ok, but once you start modding pretty heavily and if you ever have any tuning issues such as running lean, a 160 gives a wider safety margin. Plus you can run more timing advance.

Keep the stocker and program the fans to come on earlier via tuning. LS1s run best at the stock operating temps.
