Default Plug Gap

whats the stock plug gap? i also have taylor plugs that didnt come with a heat sheild like the stock ones,which wont fit, is it ok to run without them.

Are you replacing the stock plugs or just regapping them? I think the stock plug gap is supposed to be .060, but usually the little platinum discs fall off and screw the gap up. Most people around here run NGK TR55's gapped at .055. Don't worry about heat shields on your plug wires. Just make sure your wires aren't super close to or touching the headers and you'll be fine.

I'll second that post for the most part.

I ran without heat shields no problem

Used NGK TR55s @.055 when my car was N/A without issue

I will add that is you want to run non standard plugs pass on Platinum and go straight to Iridium. Works better and lasts longer. add IX to the end of an NGK part# for iridium
