Default WOT activated cutout??? possible...

how fast does an electronic cutout actuate? would it be fast enough to be actuated by a WOT swith? also which wire would you tap into on the TPS sensor? i imagine it would be the same as the one used for nitrous. any info/opinions would be great!

Takes about 3-6 seconds to open. Sounds like a good idea. Maserati implements such a concept I believe. It could be done with the components used for nitrous.
On the other hand, I would want full manual control over the cutout switch for many reasons.

Doesn't the new (c6) zo6 have something similar? I believe the exhaust switches to a freer-flowing muffler when it revs over 3000 rpm, but i'm not entirely sure about this. You might want to look into this because it sounds similar to what you're suggesting. Sweet idea though!

I would use a throtte activated switch like is common for nitrous. Use a relay along with it and you would wire it up as follows.

pin 86 ground
pin 87 +12v
pin 85 to the common side of the throttle switch when activated
pin 30 to the hot wire on the cutout motor

as for the other lead on the throttle switch i would tap into any ignition wire, there is no need to worry about overloading that wire because we are simply just activating the relay with the power from this wire and most relays only draw about 150ma to activate the coil

It Could be done, but I don't think it will open fast enough. You have to take into account to if on a M6 Your going to let out of the gas to shift. Then it would start to close. That is a pretty cool idea though. Although I think an RPM activated switch would be better like the C6 Z06 has.

Something custom with a butterfly valve would be better than trying to retrofit an electric cut out I think.

I think the motor on the cutout would burnup or die.

I seen one that runs of a vaccume pressure on turbo application cars not sure the name tho. It opens up at WOt and closes.
