Default AIR! removal and fuse help please

The AIR! system has been removed from my car, but the fuses are still in place. I've had someone tell me that the fuses should be pulled when the system is removed, is this true? I see 2 fuses in the engine fuse box, should I yank em both out?

I left mine in, no problems since i took the AIR pump and lines out in November 04. I would say leave them in place, you might need a spare some day.

Just unplug the air pump under the drivers side headlight.

Does it have to be blocked off anywhere on the car? Like how the EGR has blockoffs.

Yes, there is a tube going into each exhaust manifold/header that needs to be blocked off (if it came with bungs for such). There is also a small vacuum line that needs to be blocked off as well. When you start tearing **** out, you will see it.

The vaccum line is connected to the UFO looking thing at the back intake on the drivers side. I did mine this past Sunday and I had to squeeze my hands up there to get at it but, I got it. I left the fuses in as well, plus I am not sure which ones they are. I'm sure it wont hurt anything.

Also, when I helped my buddy with his 99 SS. His car didn't have that UFO looking thing like mine did. Maybe they started that in 2000?

That's what I'm starting to think. My car did not have it, but my buddies 2002 did.

I dont mean to hijack the thread but Im in the prosses of doing headers and before i do them i have to want to get the car inspected. I sent the computer to PCMforless yesturday to have the rear 02's and the AIR tuned out because my car is throwing a code for the rear 02 left bank. My question is do i have to unplug anything when i put the PCm back in to drive it to the inspection garage, or will i be alright leaving it alone and driving it? As soon as i get it home im getting to work on the headers. Thanks for the help.

How much would it cost to get these codes tuned out, and would i fail inspections, or do mmany places like virginia give a sniffer test.

I took my AIR pump out, taped up the connector on the harness, taped up the 2 rubber hoses.

With the AIR pump out, I found it does not throw DTC's as long as the fuse is still in (and I haven't yet deleted the AIR from my tune), and the Readiness tests come back good and ready.
